The model reformed recidivist

Full Name: Frank William Abagnale Jr.
Location: Bronxville, NY

Background:

Frank Abagnale Jr. is best known by Leonardo DiCaprio’s portrayal of him in the Blockbuster hit film “Catch Me if You Can.” The film was based on Abagnale’s life during the 1960’s when he swindled millions as a cunning young con man. Some of his most notorious scams include check forgery and impersonating an aircraft pilot, bank security guard, and doctor. His life of crime eventually caught up with him after he was arrested at the age of 21 in France. He spent time in three different prisons across three different countries including six months in France, six months in Sweden, and four years in the United States. He received an early release from federal prison after accepting a short-term deal with the government to advise the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). What started out as a short-term contract ended up becoming a lifelong career within the FBI. He has become one of the leading experts on document fraud among others. In addition to his career at the FBI, he also runs a security and fraud consulting firm.

The good samaritan shaking up the MLM establishment

 Name: Robert Lawrence FitzPatrick
Location: Charlotte, NC.

Background:

Robert L. FitzPatrick is a man of true heart. He is the prominent voice against pyramid schemes in all its forms. His life is devoted to exposing these schemes to protect the most vulnerable. FitzPatrick’s introduction to pyramid schemes began over three decades ago. One called “The Airplane Game” spread across South Florida like wildfire. It’s a type of pyramid scheme referred to as “gifting tables” today. Although FitzPatrick did not lose money during the craze, he felt that he lost his soul. “I was selling my relationships. As an MLM, that scheme urged you to go call on the people closest to you: friends, family, neighbors. It insinuated itself right into your most treasured asset — your social network. Corrupted and commercialized it and then defrauded the people that you lured in. In that scheme, 90% of the people lost.”
